    AFIF 2015

    AFIF 2015 focused on “Access to Finance and Entrepreneurship”, with special attention to SMEs and how to strengthen this particular sector.

    Held for the first time in Cape Town, South Africa over a three-day period (24-26 November 2015), the Forum highlighted innovative financial solutions to foster the growth of Africa’s businesses, and showcased opportunities of the African continent in the key sectors of agriculture, health, infrastructure and energy.

    AFIF 2014

    AFIF 2014 was held in Cologne, Germany from 4-5 of June 2014. The forum was organized by EMRC International, hosted by DEG (Deutsche Investitions -
    und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH), at the DEG headquarters.

    AFIF 2014, entitled 'Financing Business Opportunities' focused on the issues facing Sub-Saharan Africa’s finance sector.

    AFIF 2013

    The Forum, entitled "Trade for Growth and Development", was a unique occasion to showcase Africa’s many opportunities for trade and investment, and to bring together major stakeholders from all over the world. "

    AFIF 2013 was held from 13-14 June 2013 in Geneva, and was opened and chaired by Dr.Babacar Ndiaye, former two-term President of the African Development Bank.

    AFIF 2012

    In line with the United Nations’ “International Year of Cooperatives”, AFIF 2012’s theme was entitled “Financial inclusion through SMEs & Cooperatives”. The Forum was hosted by Rabobank, and organised in collaboration with FoodFirst-Floriade from 17-19 June 2012.

    AFIF 2012 provided an ideal platform to highlight and showcase Africa’s achievements over recent years, but also its potential as an economic powerhouse in the 21st century.

    The African Development Bank (AfDB) and EMRC collaborated together for AFIF 2011, entitled “Bridging the ‘Missing Middle’ Gap in Africa” .

    The two-day event took place from 6-7 June 2011 prior to the AfDB’s Annual Meetings held from 9-10 June 2011 in Lisbon, Portugal.
